Classic Fluffy American Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 3½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1¼ cups (300 ml) whole milk — room temperature
  • 1 large egg — room temperature
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter — melted & cooled + extra for cooking
  • 1½ tsp pure vanilla extract

Method

  1. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  2. Add wet ingredients → stir gently (lumps OK).
  3. Rest batter 8–12 min.
  4. Cook on medium heat until bubbles form.
  5. Flip and finish cooking.
Pro tips:
• Don't press pancakes after flipping
• Reduce milk slightly for thicker ones
